Was just wondering how it would be if we were living in the 1970's or the 1980's.
I would walk with my head bowed
Would wear a paavadai dhaavani
Oil my hair everyday, and plait my hair with tons of flowers
Wud goto school/ college by city bus
Spend just 50paise of the rs 3 pocket money given
Goto a girls only college
Shun at seeing a guy or avoid talking to a guy
Play paandi , daayakattai, paramapatham, pallankuzhi
Listen to songs on the radio
Watch "oliyum oliyum" in pakkathu aathu mami t.v.
Amma wud give a call for dinner- with "mor sadham", vetha kuzhambu and sutta appalaam"
And systematically goto sleep by 9 in the night
Addition to all these, would be a "samathu ponnu" by helping amma with drawing kolam, grating coconut,making a garland of flowers and the like.. Oh this must be fun too.

dei samathu ponnae ..1970 0 1980 o onnu difference illa...some still follow certain habits inculcated by our own parents/pati/taatta..the difference is tat we dont follow it as definate pattern..like not always a homely balle or a cosmo gal ..we are homely wen we hv to and cosmo wen we hv to...the culture is still der in all of us re..its indeed fun changing roles ..gud post!!!

i just tried reminiscing things..u cud call it a rewind situation kind of a thing.we still follow some of the living patterns from our ancestors.on the contrary, I dont see girls of my age wearing a half saree and stuff everyn single day..well, my post is not to discuss on the culture change, but to imagine experiencing something that I did not get to live with.i only tried goin back to the 1970's or 80's and just imagined how it wud b if we live that life now. i hope u got my point!

Well, if you were to live in the 70s/80s, many of the things that make you happy now, would just remain wishful thinking!! Also, you may not even be speaking/writing English the way you do today, let alone writing all these in a 'blog'!!! Anyways, interesting thought....

I thought you were being sarcastic when i started reading it. Anyways you can still follow many of these, if you are prepared to face the consequences of it ;) oh and one more thing, not to expect somone else to follow your transition as well.
oh illa, wasnt sarcastic. i just tried goin abck to the past n thot how wud it b to live that way of life now..i can still follow..and infact i do follow some of those fromt he 1970's, and am happy abt it too. though cant follow it on a regular basis..i mean intha nadaimuraikku sila samayathulu kashtam.
now.. u wanna tell this okay or you want to say that all this stuff is a waste of time..??
