Been on a trip to Kerala last weekend and it was an overnight train journey.I travelled by sleeper class to save some money!Trust me, sleeper class is the best place for some solid entertainment in the train. Its fun to watch people around you.I managed to crouch and sit on my seat when a family of 4 landed in the same cubicle as mine. There was a husband, wife , a baby and a 12 yr old girl. Its amazing to see the luggage people carry. Guess they had one whole bag for diapers alone, one bag for food and snacks, one water kettle, so on so forth. Travelling with kids is such a pain I say.As soon as they dumped all their luggages under the seats, the wife asked her husband loudly "why didnt you book tickets in the 3rd A/c?" making sure everyone around heard her.Her husband very religiously answered her saying the tickets werent available. Thought she would stop there, oh she didnt. She again loudly asked her already petrified husband why he did not book tickets in 2nd A/c and went onto describe about the A/c effect there, curtains, reading lights and how they could all get down at the destination without wearing the tired look. And after all this, she herself quietened down by saying" oh, 2nd A/c la waiting listaa".Guess the bragging gave her some happiness.
Then there was a newly married couple who held hands through out the journey. They sat closeby, ate in the same plate, ate the same chappathi by breaking it into small pieces, had water in the same glass.Thank God, they did not sleep in the same berth.
There were two old men sitting on the side berth who had a tough time with the 12 year old girl nagging them for a place there.Unable to bear the girl's tantrums, they went to sleep blissfully.
Travails like these make the train journey memorable, and so was mine too.

Nostalgia at its best, train journeys are always memorable. Very well written. Sleeper class is the best place if you want some fun. The newly married couple eating in the same plate part was hilarious. Good job sweets

This comment is not meant for publishing. I just would like to know why you didn't publish my comments in the last post ie,'Show them the meaning'. Seems like you only like appreciation and don't tolerate creative criticism from others. I thought your blog was an offbeat one. Now I think you are not the one I was thinking of. Just an another brick in the wall.

>>Yes, i did get ur comment yuest and i dint puiblish it for the simple reason that

Not true. I left my name with the comments. To clarify further, my blog is purely technical one. So I don't leave my identity in non technical blogs where people are mostly not interested in my subject. Moreover, if the bloggers REALLY want to avoid anonymous comments, they can do it in their blog customization. If you are not aware of it, I am not responsible for your ignorance. Since you allowed anonymous comments, I utilised that facility. Again, it is well understood fact that creating a false identity is the simplest thing you can do on web. So there is no meaning in insisting on identities. For me, the only thing matters is the content of the comment, not the owner of the comment. Speaking about my previous comment, it was put in a polite way opposing only your views and it didn't contain any unparliamentary comments.Anyway, since you touched my GUTS, I post this comment with my own id. At the same time, I challenge you to show your GUTS by publishing this and previous comments from me. Let others read it and decide who is right and who is wrong.
Finally I would like to mention that I don't have anything personal against you. To be frank I don't know who you are and where you are from and I don't even care those things. I you felt hurt from any of my comments, I am really sorry for that. Here goes my last few words.
Appreciation never opens yours eyes, only criticism can do that. Appreciation always surrounds you to feel a false image of true things where criticism breaks all those images and opens up the reality.
All the best.

Thanks a lot for ur patience to reply to the comment.Well, I never said u used any unparliamentary language. Its a public blog and am open to any kind of comments- good or bad.I very well know abt disabling anon comments, but i dint do it c os i dont xpect everyone to have a gmail id to sign in..and even for u, wat i meant was if u have an identity or precisely a gmail id or a blog even, pls show up. that was my only concern. I appreciate thatu did acknowledge my comment n also showed up ur identity. thanks for that. good luck to u too.

Oh. Yes. Train journeys are amazing and enjoyable. I had been travelling quite frequently to bangalore and find amazing entertainment in the station platform and inside the train. I really Love travellign in train :-)
Train journeys were only good for me when I used to travel from chennai to Orissa. They were always fun, but I remember when I used to return from bhubaneswar to Chennai, I used to sleep almost all the time and it happened to me every time. If you don't have any company, long train journeys can be really boring too.
